King
Salmon Fishing: Chinook
Best months: June & July
Chinook salmon, also known as the king salmon is the monster
salmon of the Naknek River. The Naknek is famous for consistently
producing the large king salmon runs. We fish both the Naknek and
the Nushagak River (fly-out) for King Salmon. Methods for
catching king salmon on the Naknek River are casting spinners, fly
fishing or trolling plugs. Our fly out trips provide opportunities
for casting spinners or catching king salmon drifting bait on the
Nushagak River. Naknek River king salmon average over 25 lbs with

Silver
Salmon Fishing: Coho
Best Months: August & September
Coho salmon, also known as silvers is one of the favorites on
the Naknek River. Silver salmon hit hard, rip line and put on an
acrobatic show. We fish both the Naknek River and its tributaries
for silvers. Methods on the Naknek River are fly fishing, casting
spinners, bouncing eggs or trolling plugs. Our fly-in trips also
provide many opportunities for fishing silvers on the fly. Silver
salmon average 10 to 12 pounds with the occasional fish pushing 20

Red
Salmon Fishing: Sockeye
Best Months: June, July & August
Sockeye salmon, also know as reds are the most plentiful fish to
spawn in the Naknek River. With over 1 million red salmon entering
the Naknek each year the action can be exciting and fast. The
method for catching reds is by fly but we can use spinning rods or
fly rods. Our red salmon is done in the main river and the smaller
tributaries. Red Salmon average 6 to 12 lbs. See our

Rainbow
Trout, Arctic Char & Grayling Fishing
Best Months to Fish: June, July, August,
September & October
Rainbow trout, Arctic Char ( Dolly Varden ) and Grayling are very
plentiful in the Naknek River and its tributaries. Fly fishing for
native & wild trout may not get any better. Fall time is the
favorite time to catch these beautiful fish but they are available
all summer. Most commonly used flies are salmon flesh, eggs,
sculpins & leeches. These Rainbow Trout average over 20” inches
and many Rainbows over 30” inches. See our
